Programs

By joining Alpine Strength, you are joining an exclusive training program that is usually only shared with World Cup level skiers. In an effort to bridge the gap between junior racers, World Cup racers and all recreational skiers, Marie-Michèle Gagnon has created ski-specific programs inspired by the artistry of her physical trainers; Alejo Hervàs (Spain), Nick Ward (UK), Matt Jordan and Jeremiah Barnet (CAN). After many successful ski seasons on the World Cup, Marie-Michèle realized that ski-specific training is imperative for success – thus Alpine Strength was created to help you reach your greatest potential.

SKI RACING PROGRAMS

  • The ski racing programs are designed based on Marie-Michèle’s experience competing on the World Cup tour since 2008. Needless to say, she has had a lot of time to figure out what type of physical training translates well into skiing fast. She is excited to share her training secrets with you.

General Overview of U12-U16+ programs

  • Week 1 to 3 is an introduction block. It is designed to build a solid strength base and learn new ski-specific movement patterns.
  • Week 4 to 6 is a higher volume training block designed to make the bulk of the strength gains. It’s basically the time to get down with more repetitions, and more frequent training sessions to tax your body.
  • Week 7 to 8 is designed to bring more quality over quantity to the program by focusing on power output and precision through less repetitions and more weight, as well as a more focused movement patterns. This last training block is the ultimate preparation for your race season.
